I don't know, I guess you should judge separately each cartoon. Most of the things I watch in japanese language just don't have another available language at that point.
Here in latinamerica, almost all cartoon dubs are made in Mexico and they sound great. What they did for Ranma, Dragonball and Sailor Moon was incredible, I will always prefer watching them in Spanish. BTW, I've watched Ranma in English and it also sounds pretty good. The voices they used in Spain (a completely different dub) was horrible, and the japanese dubs... I don't get them. I guess I miss Shampoo talking with a chinese "cat accent".
Question, when I watched Evangelion in European Spanish, Asuka had a regular dub. But in the Latin Spanish dub, she had a surprisingly good and fitting German accent. Does she have that accent in other dubs?
