Okay, wtf is this? Did someone actually buy a scale model of the ship that didn't make it into the movie? Oh Lordy, but you Star Wars fans are a bunch of faggots. I say that with love.

Not to be outfaggoted, I'm linking to a discussion of the Kurosawa samurai movies that Lucas is supposed to have ripped off... uh, been influenced by.

I'm going to marry Toshiro Mifune one day. Yeah, I know he's dead.

I'm sure there is a market for that.
Here's a little story about a model that actually made it into the movie:

> Oh Lordy, but you Star Wars fans are a bunch of faggots. I say that with love.
I've yet to find a girl that likes to be called fag "with love". Maybe in another country.

> Not to be outfaggoted, I'm linking to a discussion of the Kurosawa samurai movies that Lucas is supposed to have ripped off... uh, been influenced by.
Lol, "ripoff".
You know, we're not playing with Kurosawa starships toys nor with Toshiro Mifune videogames.
Lucas always said that he based his movies on classical myths (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Campbell#Film) and that was his success. Calling that a ripoff is like saying DragonBall is a ripoff of Journey to the West.
As Joseph Campbell said, we are always retelling the same stories: the merit of the narrator is making it interesting for the new audiences.

The Matrix is a good example. Everything about it has been done before, including the FX, the music, the quotes, the story and substories. But nobody had putted all that together in one single movie before and thats worthy of praise.

> A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow man.

The Hero had a quiet life as a child. When he was of age, he met a wizard that told him he was the chosen one. The wizard died soon after and the hero fulfilled his destiny.

Heroes names: King Arthur, Frodo Baggins, Luke Skywalker, Neo.
Wizard names: Merlin, Gandalf, Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Oracle.
(I was gonna add Jesus and John Baptist to that list, but most scholars agree that John didn't taught anything to Jesus).

> Solomon saith: There is no new thing upon the earth. So that as Plato had an imagination, that all knowledge was but remembrance; so Solomon given his sentence, that all novelty is but oblivion.

If i call you a faggot with love, that's called "irony". Clearly, it's not a concept you're famiiar with.

The kurasawa influence is documentaed and acknowledged, and I consider it to be part of what makes Star Wars a classic. Calm the fuck down, okay?

Bringing up The matrix? Okay, maybe you DO understand irony!

>Oh Lordy, but you Star Wars fans are a bunch of faggots.

Clearly, I was wrong.

Thhat was irony. Yes you are a bunch of faggots, and I am one of you

Here's what I think, though there are armies of nerds who know more about it than I do:

The prequels had special effects that were so amazing, they qualify as fantasy art. That can't be overlooked, but in terms of narrative, it's just backstory that retells at great length what was told much more economically in the original trilogy, and adds little of value. Vader, Obi-wan, and Yoda are all richer and more interesting in their older, world-weary versions,, well, maybe not yoda. Seeing a younger Yoda slice up bad guys three at a time is pretty awesome.

At the end of part 3, nothing is resolved. All it does it set up the original trilogy, which was a classic for all those years without being set up. Completely superfluous.

Hindsight is 20/20, but I think there should have been less focus on Obi-wan and Anikan, and more new characters at the center. Eerything was an expansion of the original trilogy. New movies require new stories. Did I see a whole lot of of time devoted to the origin of Boba-Fett, who was in Empire for just a couple of minutes? Why?

I've only seen the prequels when I was like 5 and I loved it. Even jarjar. I was a stupid little fuck back then and I didn't even get the story. It was just cool to me.

Now that I'm wiser and after I rewatched the whole thing, I get it now.

I actually downloaded them all a long time ago, I just haven't got around to watching them. took hella long because they were high quality. I skipped around in the original trilogy and it turns out they were the edited versions, complete with solo's wicked matrix neck moves. I hate that they aren't the originals, but I don't have the patience to download them again and risk getting the same copy.

Top one is over 5 years old, and the bottom one was recently shared on Priyanka's Instagram. As you can see they were both taken in the exact same place, which I found interesting.

Too bad there's no full-res version though, cause Catie looks smashing in that outfit, even more so than usual ♥o♥
